Successful Bedroom Redesigning

It’s amazing how much difference rearranging the bedroom or adopting a different decor style can make in the room. If you’ve had the same look for years, it is time to experiment with a new look and experience the charm of a new bedroom design. There are plenty of bedroom ideas you can implement, and plenty more that you can borrow from furniture stores and home furnishing companies near you. When picking ideas for the bedroom, always go with those that tug at your heart, those that you don’t struggle to understand, which your personality seems to agree and flow with. This is the key to successful bedroom redesigning.

Add rustic accents to break the monotony of contemporary blocks and clean lines. This is a great way to break up a dominant look without losing the modern touch you’ve given the bedroom. When you have a lot of hard surfaces without any upholstery on them, the bedroom can look rugged and stiff. Soften the look by having soft drapes on the windows instead of shades or blinds. Another trick is to add upholstery to the footboard or headboard, or hang a natural fiber floor rug on one wall. Sometimes, you may realize that you have focused on plain colors so much that the entire room – from walls to floor covering and bed linen – is now covered in a harsh monotone or two-tone plain colors. Break this up with patterned curtains or exchange your plain beddings with patterned ones. Keep the textures soft to add a playful edge to the design.

If you have a box space or alcove in the bedroom, consider fitting a wardrobe in this space or better yet, converting it into an open closet. It’ll add a rich luxurious feel to the bedroom. Turn the space in front of the window or, in the case of box windows, the area below the window into a sitting area. You can also place your desk and chair here for inspired moments while working or studying. That it is well isolated from the bed will boost your concentration, and there is the view outside to rejuvenate you when you suffer burn out.

Other than choosing bedroom ideas that resonate with you, consider also how much it will cost you to implement the new designs. Some ideas will require nothing more than rearranging items already in the room or upholstering them using fabrics you have in the house. Others will require you to buy a whole lot of items and accessories. Knowing how much you are willing to spend on the redecoration will help you stay on track and prevent overspending. You may also save a bit of money by replacing some items with cheaper ones and using unrelated substitutes that give a near-similar effect.

Implementing a few new ideas may be all you need to give your bedroom a fresh look. Most ideas are easy to incorporate into your existing decor and do not cost much. Others are apt for a complete makeover that changes everything from how the walls look to the wall dressing, furniture and floor coverings.
