Belgian designers Muller Van Severen tackle the shelf in their latest design for Valerie Objects.

Throughout this series, the brackets themselves become a feature of the shelves, having been laser cut from the horizontal plane then simply folded upward or downward. With no other parts needed to secure it to the wall, the focus is drawn towards the shelf's sheer materiality, which is emphasised by a choice of five refined colours.

The uniform construction of the shelves means that they can be grouped together in whatever composition you choose, but are equally striking used on their own. In keeping with Muller Van Severen's industrial influence, each shelf is made from a single sheet of steel.

Available in Light Grey, Mustard, Brick Red, Cream White or Anthracite Black.
